| Yeah,
so Jerk Records owns it's own humble little recording studio down in the
bowels of Middletown, NJ. Nothing huge, but we have some cool gear and can
make pretty good sounding recordings. It's basically a three room setup;
main room, isolation room(the
hot box), and the control room. So there. We are also a part of Discmakers'
Studio Partner Program so we can hook you up with some good duplication
and nice extra's that they offer. Anyway, take a look around and see what you like and stuff. Keep your ears clear for the new tunes available on the "recordings" section...you can sample what we're making over here and you might even like something. ----------------------------------- 04-04-06 It's been a little while It's been super busy here so i haven't had any time to do any sort of updates, but time to post news! We finished up the Unsent Letters full length a few months ago and it is in the hands of the band, but not in mine. At some point i'll get a box or two i hope. Clips on the sample page... Go Get 'Em. Now, most of my work is focused on 2 full lengths and about 4 or 5 small demo type projects. I'm actually maintaining a blog for one of my new projects called The New Ancients. You can follow along with the weekly sessions on this new page here. Lots of good studio coverage there. The never ending ebb and flow of equipment in and out of this place continues... let's see... there's a MicroKorg here now (love that thing), the Electrix Warp Factory is out (a bit reduntant since the MicroKorg has a vocoder in it), a couple other pieces of junk gear have been sold, a couple super cheap-ass mics are in, as well as a new super-not-cheap Vintech x73i, which is now my new "go to" pre amp/eq unit. Some new software is in... various little toys here and there... I'm also waiting on a shipment of mics (3 or 4) directly from China that i will be attempting mods to (after all, i was an electrical engineer supposedly at some point). I will probably end up breaking them. Currently Recording: Chris DeLaCruz The New Ancients (the ORB project) The Wag The RingOut Karen Mansfield 11-02-05 Yikes. New Computer. We've stepped it up a few notches with a new dual 2Ghz Macintosh G5. This thing is downright intimidating! Also - new plugs from Tritone Digital and SSL have been aquired. Tres Cool. New drives in as well. Check out the pictures page for updates. 09-21-05 UPDATE Added pictures of all gear. I was bored. 08-20-2005 ----------------------------------- Out with the New, in with the old. The Apogee Trak2 is outta here... too complicated and didn't sound (to me at least) all that much better than the RME converters, so out it went and in it's place we now have the venerable Universal Audio 1176 compressor and a Sansamp RBI. I caught Skeleton Key at a local club last weekend, and the bass player was using the pedal version (Sansamp Bass Driver) and it was fierce! I've always wanted an 1176, and the time was right, so there you have it. Final mixes of the EP for The RingOut are done and the master is back from Plink at 17th Ave Productions. Great job as always Plink! Anyone needing mastering should definately check him out. Two of the songs are online and can be heard on myspace HERE. Also - a higher quality version of one of the songs IS HERE!!! Current Projects: The Wag Unsent Letters (mixing) Karen Mansfield The ORB The Big Mechanical Bull Website Updates: new studio pics finally up (to reflect current gear finally) for sale page updates. new samples in the "recordings" section are up. ----------------------------------- 06-28-2005 The large heater that i sit next to while working (the rack) grows hotter with the addition of a new Apogee Trak2 preamp/AD/DA converter. After many days of climbing under the console and around the rack using all kinds of yoga moves to run cable and track down clocking and digital routing issues, we are finally back in action. Nice. This thing is purple too. So we've got that going for us. Also! yikes, i'm excited... new follow on project to Million Time Winner is gaining momentum. The 4 song EP we're recording here is by far the best sounding thing (sonically) to date. Clips will soon be here. The band is yet to be named, and still in search of personel, but it will be good. promise. Keep checking Jerk Records Home Page or Million Time Winner central for details. ----------------------------------- 05-23-2005 New (old, really) stuff up for sale on the sale page. ----------------------------------- 03-15-2005 New converters are in! 8 channels of RME converters now complete our signal path (thanks for tips on what to buy from my friend F. Reid Shippen in Nashville). They sound extra nice and are making me smile. Also, new Electrix stuff has been obtained, so wacky space-sounds are imminent. Kooky new lights have been put up over the board too. Ooooo. New pics of the gear are up, and new mp3's from The Big Mechanical Bull and Tom Sasso's Bongos added. Currently recording projects for: Unsent Letters (full length) The Big Mechanical Bull (full length) The Wag (full length) I'm also doing a new project with Jeff Ulrich from Million Time Winner and Tim Bennett from Full Surrender. ----------------------------------- 11-17-2004 Currently recording (and or finishing up) projects by: The Wag Kerri Lynne Tom Sasso's Bongos (clip coming soon!) Dave T. (from Niagra's Falling) New computer related nick-knacks added to gear page. For Sale Page updated. ----------------------------------- 09-15-2004 New clips and songs added to the "Recordings" section. Matt Cook and The Big Mechanical Bull. Yee Haw. |
